Palm Bay Florida Police to use Dazer Lasers

Palm Bay, Fla.—The City of Palm Bay, Fla.—the first police department in the United States to fully deploy non-lethal technology—now uses Dazer Laser Guardians. Made by Laser Energetics Inc., Dazer Laser Guardians are an effective optical distraction and interruption device, which has been designed to be operated eye safe from 1 to 300 meters for maximum visual impairment, distraction, suppression, deterrence, illumination and target designating.

The Palm Bay Police Department’s utilization of the Dazer Laser will better position the agency in today’s challenges against crime. In addition to the purchase, the Palm Bay Police Department will work jointly with Laser Energetics Inc. by testing the Dazer Laser to focus on implementation of best use practice and tactical strategies in various disciplines.

The Palm Bay Police Department recently achieved national status as leaders through Search Operations Aerial Response (SOAR), a program funded by the National Institute of Justice and its Law Enforcement Aviation Technology Program.
