Yes it was. With these words:

...announces that the company seeks a merger...

Not anything about a certain date. But Bird Gang Stocks wrote on January 05 that the merger will be announced in 1.5 weeks. Well, 9 days later it was a PR publicly announcing the merger. You don't find this bothersome?
I'm not taking away the fact that the merger was planned ahead of time, but the thing that people obviously knew about it before the information became public.

Or do you honestly think they "guessed" about that 1.5 week? Could be, but seems fishy...
