Almost if not all World Wide Car Manufactures have and electric car in production or development. 2 Lithium battery plants going on-line soon in Michigan. I believe I read where we will have a total of 5 battery factories to supply US manufacturing needs to start. The US, South Korea, Japan, India and Europe were getting 85% of there Lithium from China...that is gone or greatly reduced now. In 3-5 years you could see electric, trucks, semi-tractor trailers, boats, RV, trains all battery powered. Public transportation in many cities have already experimenting with City buses and transportation...so the technology is there to drastically reduce the US overseas oil dependency and consumption. What would be cool is if the Volt technology incorporated a Natural Gas powered back-up rather than a gasoline powered motor.
