The device is an Imaging Device (pictures)

If they are doing an operation on your liver and the device has produced horrible pictures your safety (i.e your life) is at risk.

I'm having a little trouble understanding how bad pictures could possible be a safe thing for a medical procedure.

Perhaps I am misunderstanding something here. Please clarify?
