Been awhile, but I'm gonna make y'all suffer through one anyway. *g*
The doc says to me, "you need to lose weight". No kidding, I say, but HOW? Nothing works. NO diet. NO exercise. NO chemicals or herbs. Never have. Never will. She agrees, I do seem to be an enigma. Genetics have conspired against me. I am the smallest of all but 2 or 3 family members. The largest tip the scales at well over 300lbs. And these are women no taller than a good-sized gnome.
What to do? Doc says, if you can't lose the weight at least you can build the muscle. That helps the speed up the metabolism, burns more calories, and keeps the bones strong. 'At my age' (grrrr...I HATE that phrase) one must start thinking about osteoporosis, arthritis (too late), and the other conspirators in the plan to make me old.
So, in August of last year I started a weight training program. After 7 months, I'm here to tell you this: I've gained 3 pounds, my legs and arms look like I should be playing football - they are VERY muscular, and none of my blouses or jackets fit any more because my, ahem, chest and back look like those of a linebacker.
I'm thinking of joining the WWF....might as well turn this into a moneymaker.....
