Interesting. In 2005 there were 241,000,000 Cars registered in the US. Did some math:


10,000 acres would fill up about 9.62 cars/yr based on one fill up per week and a 20 gallon tank.

Lake Erie is 6,360,000 surface acres. That would fill only 6,115 cars per year.

There are 241,000,000 registered cars in the US. That would take approx 250,640,000,000 acres to fill those cars.
That's a LOT of water.

There is room in the alternative fuel market for lots of different methods. And I like Lake Erie just the way it is.
