China's wireless subscriber base swelled to 841.94 million in December, the country's top three operators reported.

China Mobile, the country's top operator by subscriber count, added 4.37 million new wireless customers in December, bringing its total wireless subscriber base to more than 584 million. China Mobile said it added 61.73 million new customers in 2010.

China Unicom, the country's second-largest operator, added 617,000 new 2G subscribers and nearly 1.3 million new 3G subscribers. The net adds brought China Unicom's wireless subscriber base to 167.4 million.

China Telecom said its mobile subscriber base rose to 90.52 million last month.
