Shamokinite, the picture is one I took while on vacation in Cancun. These girls (about 9 of them) showed up on the beach with a photographer for some kind of modeling photoshoot and I asked in clumsy Spanish if I could take a couple of pics of my own. They continued to pose for me and I was in heaven. I didn’t know what else to say, so I asked them, in Spanish, where they are from….. “ MEY-HE-co. Daaaah!”

Now, back to business!

Can anyone tell me about the maintenance of a dredge? How long can these run before you have to take them out and work on them? I was assuming that they could run for the season and then work on them during the rainy season, but I guess I’m ignorant in knowledge of dredges. Now that I think more about it, I guess it’s got to be hard on the pumps and such to run hundreds of tons of sand, mud, rocks and gravel through them. Should we expect each dredge to need 3 or 4 periods of downtime for maintenance per season? Just curious.
