I may be way off on my theory with some of these, but it seems pretty reasonable that any MM can sell on margin from bell to bell right.? Just like we have all done with our trading accounts except it is our own damn money.

It seems like the EOD gets exciting for several stocks because that is about the time everyone starts "counting their chips" and squaring up for the day... If we don't play and trade with our stocks every day (like money in a checking account), is it safe to assume that "someone" else is playing with them for us?...
