Sounds all to familiar. I to would rather pay more to avoid hassles. I called more than 6 times, visited a local branch and the only way I got anything done was to elevate the issue to a Supervisor and take his phone number to ensure I got satisfaction.

Whatever happened to Customer Service. Yikes.
