Charles Vinick
Chairman and CEO
Charles Vinick was appointed Chief Executive Officer in January 2011. He was elected Executive Chairman by the Board of Directors in August 2010, having been elected Chairman in December 2009. Mr. Vinick joined Ecosphere’s Board of Directors in August 2006 after serving as an advisor to the company since 2000. He previously served as Director of Business Development and Government Relations for Dehlsen Associates, a renewable energy technology development firm in Santa Barbara, California. Mr. Vinick has more than 25 years of executive and leadership experience and his recent positions include: President and Chief Executive Officer of the Alliance to Protect Nantucket Sound, from June 2005 through August 2007; CEO of the Foundation for Santa Barbara City College from June 2004 through May 2005; and Vice President of Fritz Institute from October 2003 to April 2004. He was Executive Vice President of the Ocean Futures Society from its founding in 1998 through September 2003. Including the Ocean Futures Society, Mr. Vinick has previously held executive positions for over 20 years with organizations headed by Jacques Cousteau or Jean-Michel Cousteau.
