Radio ID firm Sirit Inc. lands $16M contract from Colorado highway agency

TORONTO (CP) - Sirit Inc., which makes radio frequency identification readers, has signed a $16-million deal to supply highway toll-collecting devices to the E-470 Public Highway Authority in Colorado.
Sirit (TSX:SI) said Tuesday that it will deliver its UHF RFID toll transponder technology to the authority over the next five years.
"Sirit has earned a reputation for providing high-performance tolling products and prides itself on building strong relationships with its clients," CEO William Staudt said in a release.
"Automatic vehicle identification continues to be a significant contributor to Sirit's business model and this agreement win is a testament to the reliability of our technology offering."
E-470 is a 75-kilometre toll highway that runs along the eastern perimeter of the Denver metropolitan area.
