Newmont Mining Corporation of Canada Limited (TSX:NMC) made a couple investments in Central African DRC last year through a company called Loncor Resources Inc. (TSX-V:LN)(U.S. OTC:LNRFF). Loncor completed a $19.9 million bought deal and a $3.9 million non-brokered private placement on Thursday. Newmont will have a financially strong partner to leverage Newmont's technological capacity and Loncor's prospective land position and country relations in one of the world's most prospective gold countries.
