Respectfully, I have to disagree with you. John told me that a diamond export license costs $40,000. The exporter must also give a % of the rough diamonds to the government of SL. Because 40K is an expense we can ill afford to bear (at this point) we sell our diamonds in country for a couple hundred dollars apiece.
A gold export license on the other hand only costs $3,000. Consequently, our near term goal is to purchase a smelter so we can pour our own dore bars. Of course if we find a large, high quality diamond that in itself would be a significant money generator for SGCP. That possibility exists.
