Stun Pistol Successfully Tested to I.E.C. Cardiac Safety Standard

YOUNGSVILLE, N.C., Mar 29, 2005 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) ( www.iec.ch)is the leading global organization that prepares and publishes standards for all electrical, electronic and related technologies. The United States of America is a member of IEC. The IEC establishes safety thresholds for shocks from manufactured equipment. IEC standard 479-2 establishes safety thresholds for shock pulses, occurring for the duration at the voltage and the rate of shock pulses from Law Enforcement Associates model MP1 Stun Pistol(TM) with FMT(TM) Technology.

Law Enforcement Associates Corporation ( LENF ), a surveillance and security technology company, today announced that full power shocks from its MP1 Stun Pistol(TM) have been tested for compliance with IEC safety standard 479-2. The average rms current for seven Stun Pistol(TM) shock circuits tested was just 34.68 milliamperes with the highest rms current value in the sample just 37.15 milliampperes. 37.15 milliamperes is less than 1/26th the ventricular fibrillation threshold established by IEC standard 479-2 for shock pulses of the duration, voltage and repetition rate of the MP1 Stun Pistol(TM) shock pulses.
The tests were conducted by Felper Engineering in Orange, California. Felper Engineering's full reports are posted at www.leacorp.com.

Commenting, Mr. Paul Feldman, President of Law Enforcement Associates, stated "Law Enforcement Associates is proud to introduce to market an electronic stun pistol that conforms to the standard of care and safety of the world's electronics manufacturing industry. The law enforcement community benefits from having a stun pistol that effectively disables violent suspects at such low power and the knowledge that the product used by their agency conforms to established industry safety standards for electronic shocks. These tests surely validate to Law Enforcement Associates incorporation of its new FMT(TM) Technology into the MP1 Stun Pistol(TM).
