Marty, i really like to break down the buses into intercity and airport buses, b/c the CPMs are so different.

CCME's press release on 11/23/10 mentions “over 26,400 express buses” –and maybe there were an extra 5-15 buses or so in the “over 26,400 buses” tally, but we had to SUBTRACT the 507 airport shuttle buses under contract at the time, so that means about 25,900+ intercity buses contracted for 2011 as of the time of the P.R.
Now, commencing Jan. 1, 2011, we know there are another 623 intercity buses under contract, so the new total of intercity buses is likely 26,520+.

And know that each of the dozens of bus operators are likely EXPANDING THEIR FLEETS on a yearly basis to meet the demands of a more affluent, mobile population; so, as i onced pointed out to Danduedil, CCME's bus numbers will likely slightly expand over the quarters/years just from this factor alone.

As for the airport shuttle buses, as you know, by the time of the 11/23 p.r., there were 507 shuttle buses at 6 airports.

Now we know from today's p.r. that as of 1/1/11, there are 658 buses at 8 airports.

With many more airports likely to come!
