FONAR Sells Upright MRI to Imaging Center in Texas; Physician Customer Believes The Upright MRI to be the Most Technologically Advanced MRI in the Marketplace

MELVILLE, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)----FONAR Corporation (NASDAQ-FONR), The MRI Specialist(TM), announced today the recent sale of an Upright(TM) MRI to Victoria MRI, LTD. in Victoria, Texas.

Dr. Paul Hoang, a pain management specialist, and anesthesiologist and a general partner at Victoria MRI, said "We purchased the FONAR Upright(TM) MRI after carefully examining the MRI marketplace. We determined that the FONAR scanner is the most technologically advanced product available. It is a very differentiated product which gives us a diagnostic competitive edge over conventional MRI scanners."

Dr. Hoang continued "Our practice includes many patients with back and neck pain. Often, a recumbent MRI can not clearly identify the etiology for that pain. Our new Upright(TM) MRI will scan these patients in the various standing or sitting weight-bearing positions and scan them in the additional positions of flexion and extension. This will enable us to have a better understanding of the nature of their pain. This information is often critical to a patient's diagnoses and treatment."
