99% sure those patents will not affect the product I was referring to. Here is the description from the patent:

"A personal emergency communication system includes a user-carried portable communication unit having a single button, which when depressed by the user, wirelessly sends a call request signal to a base unit. The patent specifically describes a device that send a signal through a base station. As the Lifecomm unit operates via cellular network, it would not violate the patent in any way.
