Problem with shorts is if blockbuster news does come (which rarely happens) and shorts have to cover they just move back in again when volume slows and really beat the sh-it out of it then to make up for any losses and then some. When toxic financers target your company and call you up to make deals and you turn them away its almost like the mob, they get their money one way or another and shorts is the last trick.
