Off the top of my head I could see the ISL being a real tough sell in an arid area like southern Alberta. Even though "The ISL process is simple, uses local groundwater that is naturally enriched in uranium and returns purified, less-radioactive water to the environment. People are real sensitive to water issues after the drought of the past 5 years. For example there is a lot of opposition to new and exisiting oil field water flood projects. The coal bed methane developments have many rural people worried about ground and surface water impacts-rightly or wrongly. Even my local field of worship (golf course) has had a meter installed on our well and is having our water usage license enforced for the first time.
