That is very possible as they are probably a very small company and have limited resources to deal with any one problem that comes up..I would be shocked if it was a bandwidth problem though..You can get many GB's of transfer for only a few dollars a month with most hosting companies and they will let you know when you are about to exceed the limits..

It could also be just a simple case of Rabbitossis..
