Since our last alert of AMPW there have been numerous accomplishments and spectacular news that we feel can have a significant impact on the market valuation of the company.

Just days ago, one of Wall Street’s leading research groups, Cohen Independent Research Group Issued a "Buy" Rating With a Target Price of $4.40 for American Power Corp.

A target price of $4.40, represents potential gains of over 330%.

Since this news, AMPW has witnessed strong technical improvement signifying a great entry level for new shareholder.

Moreover, there has been strong support established at current levels due to high volume that has increased close to 70% in the past months, which could lead to a higher market valuation as the company to continues to grow!

In September 2010, AMPW closed a financing agreement for total gross proceeds of $10 million through a 2.5-year stock issuance agreement with a European institutional investor (refer to press release dated September 14, 2010). The agreement includes a warrant component that could provide an additional $10 million to American Power over the coming years. During 2010, AMPW received a total of $1.1 million from this institutional investor, of which $500,000 were received in virtue of this financing agreement. The Company still has $9.5 million available under this agreement, which it intends to use to fund its operations in the upcoming years.

"The funding received to date has been primarily used to kick-start the exploration and development of the Pace Coal project. This financing agreement will be key for us going forward as it provides the necessary funding to advance our flagship project, as well as to seek and acquire additional properties of merit to our portfolio," stated Al Valencia, CEO of American Power. "We continue to advance towards our ultimate goal of taking the Pace Coal project back into production, for the benefit of Montana, America and our shareholders,"
added Mr. Valencia.

AMPW is a publicly traded, dynamic energy company based in Denver, Colorado. AMPW is also a member of the Montana Mining Association, and holds approximately 29,000 acres in Judith Basin County, Montana. Based on 2008 production numbers, three of America’s 25 highest producing coal mines are located in Montana: Spring Creek Mine, Rosebud Mine and Decker Mine.

Within the past 10 years, Montana’s annual rate of coal production has increased by nearly 30x. Of all the states, Montana has the largest reserve base (119.1 billion tons), and was ranked 5th by production in 2008 with 44.8 million tons of coal produced from six major mines.

AMPW’s immediate goal for the advanced coal project is to build on the property’s past production of over 1.3 million tons by continuing the exploration process and re-engaging the proven Lehigh Mine as soon as possible. Some of the highest-paying and most sought after jobs in Montana are found in its coal mines. As of 2008, Montana’s coal mines employed over 1,100 people with an estimated payroll of $85.3 million. With average prices for Bituminous coal in the 12,500 BTU range being roughly $65.00/ton this provides a tremendous potential for profits for AMPW.

Warren Buffett's Investment

Recently Warren Buffet invested more than $34 billion in Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) railway line. The railway runs within AMPW’s acreage, which gives AMPW a greater opportunity to supply coal to both national and international customers.

Other big players on the Montana arena are two mines operated by Cloud Peak Energy: the Spring Creek Mine and a 50% ownership in the Decker Mine (East & West). Rio Tinto (NYSE: RIO | Market Cap: $132.92B) spun off Rio Tinto Energy America to Cloud Peak Energy in late 2009 while retaining 48.3% ownership in the company. Rio Tinto Energy America produced 140.82 million short tons of coal in 2008.
