boomtime,

let me first say that my charting ability would be formible to some and laughable to many(lol)--i don't use an exponential moving average per say --i think it's important that a chart mirror your trading style at any given moment--with candles..i like to use envelopes(bollinger style) wrapped around a simple moving average(instead of an EMA)..i use the same indicator(MACD 12,26), as well as, volume tagged with a 50 MA, and a slow stochastic(slowed by 5)....all based on a 6 month time frame with a daily frequency---as you can see, i'm not jumping on and off the gtel bus--i use the slow stochastic to shorten the view---of course this is my main chart...but all that changes with volatility--the only thing i can tell you about indicators is that using similar ones at the same time as companions are not good---i am on the learn as well as you are...there are many here in this forum that can provide you with credible suggestions more readily than i may

ps- watch for the gtel squeeze with the bollinger bands..good visual(when the bands come together..somethings gonna happen in one direction or the other...adding other indicators to mix show up..up..up(imo))

good luck to you my friend
