The ARM guys have a point.

The applications that require more processing power is decreasing, so every step ARM takes in better performance mean more and more potential for them to take x86 marketshare.

(That's actually bad for the PC industry in general but beside the point)

Yes, its true ARM has a monopoly in the Smartphone and Tablet market, but everyone associated with ARM are tiny, while Intel is huge. So potentially Intel has much more to lose.
