BEIJING, Jan 04, 2011 (SinoCast Daily Business Beat via COMTEX News Network) --
China MediaExpress Holdings Inc. (Nasdaq: CCME), a leading media operator in the country, announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary launched an online shopping platform on December 29, 2010 to capitalize on the government-backed integration of telecom network, Internet, and broadcast network.
The shopping platform features a series of media terminals such as video, Internet, mobile phone, flat media, and demonstration stores, said Cheng Zheng, chief executive officer and chairman for the Nasdaq-listed company, noting that the move marks a breakthrough in the retail media 3.0 era.
The company will distribute vehicle-carried shopping handbooks for free to potential consumers in the 4S stores, airports, tourist buses, and business travelers in a bid to promote the expansion in the retail media market, according to Mr. Cheng. In addition, it will open 400-500 experience stores in the central business districts (CBDs) in first-tier cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen.
