Of course it is-- you are resolving the inherent disconnect between the same PP executing in the present with a future contemplation by not resolving it and turning it into my issue.

I wasn't there. Your post as presented juxtaposed the timeline meets my definition of lying as he offered information that contradicted a reality he knew of (or should have known of given his position). Somehow trying to resolve the present with future that really meant the present gets into a silly sort of space-time semantic parsing IMO.
