Then a different voice pipes up:
"At the tone, you may record your message. When finished, you may press the pound key for further options, or simply hang up."
I would like for it to go like this:
ring... ring...
"Hi, it's Jill, sorry you missed me." BEEEP
I know what to do by now and just about everyone that can draw a breath knows what to do, too. And if you don't, chances are good that Jill doesn't want to hear from you anyway!
