Pointing out the SAME thing more often... doesn't actually change the FACT that is it simply incorrect to target the functions in the aggregation of amyloid while calling amyloid "the toxin"... when that function simply isn't the problem.

They've got the wrong target.

Their concept might be valid, in terms of an potential application for antibodies in targeting the PRECURSORS leading to formation of the highly reactive toxin... rather than the byproducts produced, after the fact, in response to the function of the toxin ???

Basically, Alzheimers and other forms of dementia appear to be caused by at least one specific, highly reactive intermediary... a poison. Get rid of the production of the poison, solve the problem. Don't get rid of the production of the poison, but only get rid of things that happen in response to it... and you don't solve the problem.

In between... you might find ways to reduce the scope of the problem by slowing the process down, or by enhancing the bodys ability to resist and repair the damage being caused...

But, knowing better now what the problem is... makes it that much more soluble. Still, it won't be solved by those who continue to delude themselves and others about what the problem is...

So, the questions you need to ask here include... what are the odds that the "news" you expect here soon might NOT be good news... and, even if "good news" in terms of programmatics... what are the odds it won't ever matter anyway ?

Sticking your head in the sand about these issues, while continuing to flog the stock... isn't exactly the sort of "leadership" that will be required to have the effort that has been made here survive to matter in the future... IMO.

It really isn't that hard a problem... given new awareness re the origin of the disease.

Either they are targeting "the problem"... or they aren't.

Thus far, all they've done is continue saying what they were saying before... that it is the amyloid being deposited that is "the toxin"... when it isn't.
