I assume you have experience in the market. So I'm puzzled by the shorting move. CSCO has been at the bottom of a long term range, even though its technology and financial position is very strong. That means it was at the bottom merely because some fund manager(s) were dumping it for their own peculiar reasons. Once that dumping is completed, and it starts to move up, it will keep going, because the factors that held it down are removed. That factor was merely the whim of some idiot fund manager, and nothing fundamental. A company does not achieve a $40B cash pile if it had something basic wrong with it.

Anyway, traders had learned to pile on the selling. But that game is over. Some folks catch on to the new model quickly, and some learn it after some time.
