You are correct. Sfio is a 2 part system. The filter stores the dry nicotine. The second part is the stick which contains the battery and heating element. It is describe in detail how it works on their site. I might add for those that are new to this board that myself and a few other people on this board were lucky enough to get a kit last year from the company. It works very well.
