Dovetail: New Food Bill and MIT 1000

From New York Times Yesterday
http://www.nytimes.com/2010/12/22/business/22food.html?_r=1

Under the legislation, food manufacturers will be required to examine their processing systems to identify possible ways that food products can become contaminated and to develop detailed plans to keep that from happening. Companies must share those plans with the F.D.A., and provide the agency with records, including product test results, showing how effectively they carry them out.

From MMTC’s Business Plan
The MIT 1000 … uses the proven principles of light scattering ... to identify bacteria or other micro-organisms. The System, which is totally Green, can currently identify more than twenty different species of bacteria without the use of chemicals, reagents, dyes or DNA processing – the only additive required is clean water. Other microbes can be easily added to the System’s ID capability, including; protozoa, fungi, yeast and mold. MIT, through independent testing, has proven the ability to identify the most dangerous and pervasive food contaminating pathogens; E. coli, Listeria and Salmonella; and major health hazards Staphylococcus aureus (“Staph”) and Methicillin Resistant Staph aureus (“MRSA”).
