Unfortunately America has become a country of the rich and powerful, where the small individual is trampled to death in favor of the status quo. Instead of addressing problems and attempting new endeavours, the select and privilaged few use the mirror of politics to advance an agenda that only benfits the few, while keeping the masses in check with poor paying positions that keep them in check.
America use to be innovative, and have a vision that the world wanted to follow, now we are something like an old 1950's car that is still on the road while new technologies are developed elsewhere.
Its ashame as we approach the end of another year, that the only thing our politicians have learned is how to work together to spend even more money on doing absolutely nothing but postponing America's day or reckoning.
