Drilling was announced back in mid August. They stated they intended to start drilling within 90 days. Nove 15th would've been the end of that 90 period. Here it is Dec 19th or 20th. Depending upon when you read this.
Even though they are probably using different drilling techniques, I can offer some ancedotal evidence to the drilling.
About a milie from where I live and literally just a couple hundred yards from the DFW airport, they started to build a natural gas well. They are now drilling for natural gas. This should give you an idea as to how long it takes to get a rig started.
One other thing that could cause the price of oil to sky rocket is if north korea decides to attack South Korea. north korea has threatened to use nukes "if" they go to war. Instability or any reason to rule the "jack the price of oil up" dice will be good for profits.
