had an interesting encounter the other day at wells fargo bank.

i was making a checking account deposit, and a "supervisor" came over and said, "would you like to open a savings account today?" (banks are desperate for some deposit funds to loan out at higher interest rates!)

i responded, "oh, i opened a "savings account" the first part of the year and so far i've enjoyed about 70% returns! i continued, "what's your savings interest rate?" She replied sheeplessly, "we have a 2% CD if you keep your money there 5 years!"

the teller speaks up quickly asking, "where you getting 70%?

"SILVER bullion!" i replied.

the supervisor says, "yeah but you don't get any interest on silver, do you?"

i was trying not to embarrass the supervisor in front of the teller but I thought to myself "who in the hell needs 2% interest when you can get 70% returns in less than a year!"

bank mentality!

btw, i recently enjoyed some of those returns when i sold some of my pre-1964 silver coins that i received from my mothers estate which she had been saving since the early 70's. didn't sell all--just enough to enable me to buy a whole set of american eagles between $21 and $30 a piece.

who said it doesn't take money to make money! smile
