What makes you this sure that Saint Ken is watching out for "our good"? Because you're godfather to his kids and have known him your whole life or because you just want it to be so bad?
In Economics a principle we learned on the first day of class was that everyone's actions are governed by their own self interest. If it comes down to "either I make money and the investors lose" or "we're all going to have to take a bite of a giant turd sandwich" don't think for a second that a stranger will look out for my best interest before his own. He will save his neck before he saves yours.
