Even more reason to believe Michael Prokhorov is in some way interested in acquiring SAEI indirectly through JSC Romanov Group. It says in those articles he is going to be taking a 100% stake in the Romanov group. Nowhere in those articles does it say those are PRs from SAEI

Check this out, directly from his website under news. Just happened to be dated Dec. 8, 2010.

“We’ll need to be in the world’s top three,” he said in a Bloomberg Television interview yesterday in Moscow. Polyus will “make a merger with one of the leading gold companies in the world” after it completes plans to gain a primary listing in London, he said, declining to name acquisition candidates.

“We don’t need acquisition cash,” he said. “As soon as we have a London listing, we can merge with any international company because it’s the same as money.”

Polyus spent almost a decade amassing the world’s fifth- largest gold reserves. Prokhorov, who controls the Moscow-based company with fellow billionaire Suleiman Kerimov, plans to keep a minority stake. Prokhorov and Kerimov each own 37 percent, according to Polyus.

Could the Romanov group be part of Prokhorov and Kerimov?

Prokhorov is aggressively seeking acquisitions at a feverish pace. Gold is up 30% for the year.

He wants to acquire these acquisitions with as little fan fare as possible so he doesn't end up in a bidding war. Strictly my opinion. He obviously doesn't want others to know where he is making those acquisitions either.

If you have not read this article, it is a must read.

Where did all the buying come from yesterday? That was not just short covering and that was not just Ihubbers. There has been some serious buying in all this downturn.
