I like Wallace and I enjoyed walking around the town the times I visited there. I wouldn't mind living there and even suggested it to my wife, but she'd have none of it. I also own that centennial coin featured on the site. Picked it up years ago while in Wallace for about $6 bucks or so.

While Wallace looks idyllic, many surrounding towns are not. There's a shabbiness to some of the places there and some of the homes look like they were transported from poor Appalachian coal mine towns. There was plenty of evidence of economic and environmental degradation, too. The abuses of 100 years ago are no longer practiced, but scars remain.
