Since number of reads plays into your overall TOP BOARDS score, the possible manipulation causes the false interpretation of the true data.
I'm pretty certain that the number of reads is NOT factored in to the Top Boards score. I can say that with a high degree of certainty despite the fact that the formula I'm using is so complicated and inscrutable that even I no longer can figure it out without hours of tearing it apart.
The reason I'm so sure is that I wrote the Top Boards algorithm something like a year or more before I was even tracking the number of reads a board got.
