I got another idea that the company may possible do that somehow "mistakenly" to trap the shorties. Who care about these typo if they got the deal inked. But now shorties got trapped and have to cover.

Even worse if Mikhail Prokorov buys all the shares from market? then raise his bid to force shorties to cover and he can use the money from short squeeze to pay for the buyout price.

It is certainly possible!
