Kathleen Smith’s Summary
As an energetic and astute leader in translational and personalized medicine, Dr. Smith has developed an in-depth expertise in early drug development and diagnostics in her twenty plus year career. While at Schering-Plough Biopharma she built a human tissue bank with over 10,000 samples, created and managed a pathology laboratory, and led the effort for the translation medicine program. As the Director of Clinical Validation at Berkeley HeartLab, Inc. (BHL) she worked closely with the senior management to develop, implement, and manage clinical research programs to validate BHL’s disease management program and to analyze the benefit of their novel genetic test offerings. She is passionate about science and how new discoveries can help improve peoples lives.
