SecureAlert, Inc. (OTCBB: SCRA), a provider of wireless electronic monitoring systems (electric tethers, basically), announced that Court Programs of Florida, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary, has been awarded a proposal from Miami-Dade Juvenile Services Division, which is a leader in the proactive supervision of Juvenile Offenders in the United States.

Basically, bad kids and teenagers will get a SecureAlert ReliaTrack™ GPS for use in a pilot program. This is a program for alternative supervision of young offenders. This way, everyone will know exactly which bank Junior is robbing and at what time. Thank God for modern technology!

Remember back in the good old days, when offenders were put in wooden stocks in the middle of the street? I’m in favor of that method. That way, there’s no question where the kids are at any point. But I guess this is a better system, because now mom and dad can call Junior and ask him to pick up some cigarettes after he’s done robbing the liquor store.

No change in this stock, which has a lame volume of only a thousand, a current price of $0.101, and a market cap of $26.54 million. But I do think this could be big news for the company, if the pilot testing goes well. Let’s just cross our fingers and hope for a surge of crimes committed by minors in Florida!
