As per a summary from John Schieszer in Oncology News International, an antiviral drug was found to retard growth of cervical cancer cells

Investigators @ German Cancer Research Center (Eberhard Antmann et al)reported ICAAC abstract TF1-1646 on effects of LMV-601, a phosphatidyl choline specific phospholipase C inhibitor being developed by Lumavita AG. Human cervical cancer cells derived from patients with high risk HPV and cervical cancer were treated in vitro with this antiviral compound, and both virus expression and growth/multiplication of the cancer was stopped. A clinical study in patients with early stage cervical cancer is scheduled to begin within the next year.

If this works with this drug, could a nanoviricide for HPV work even better?
