Akoo: ..HERE IS THE EXPLANATION

You are missing the fundamental intent of Deans patent.
I agree , there are numerous online S/W available which

can take N 2d picture from different angles of object and produces 3d images.

Medtronic O arm and many other C arm works on this simple concept.
But fastest 3d processing is 55 sec available now.

Let me today explain Deans basic patent idea in very simple language:

Let assume the organ under procedure like a baseball playground . When you are watching is the mach , the mach telecast operator shows the live match from different angles in real time. This is done by placing multiple cameras around the playground covering almost every slice of circular playground ...This playground is analogous of multidetector O ARM ..where these detector takes 2d picture of a organ live from all angles.

If physician is interested in seeing the organ from a specific angle lets say ANGLE-N ....the view for this angle can be constructed by directly pasting 2d picture from ANGLE1 on 3d base map...but lets say if picture from ANGLE-N is not available then it can be constructed by extrapolating pictures from ANGLE-N-1 and ANGLE-N+1.

This multidetector system is very costly and high radiation..but still covered by Deans patent.

OK..Here is the trick ...Instead of placing multiple cameras around the periphery of playground ...lets rotate 1 or 2 cameras around the playground fast enough to defeat human eye perception.
Now at given time 1 or 2 cameras captures 2d pictures from ANGLE-0 to ANGLE-N ... Physician can select the angle of interest by just moving computer mouse ..and DVIS constructs the image of that view instantly..

Concept looks very simple ...but nobody thought of this in medical imaging field before Dean...It also surprised me and several 3d medical imaging expert from big companies ...every body said.."OH shit..why didn't I think of this.."

It is fundamental and very powerfull patent...It is almost impossible to show real time view of 3d images from all angles without crossing this fundamental patent ..

If is was possible ...than somebody would have had upper hand by now (GE , Tosiba, Medtronic , philips etc).

Hope this helps people to understand the value of DVIS patent ..
