China Weighs $1.5 Trln Spending Plan For High-Tech Goods -ReutersLast update: 12/2/2010 8:21:49 AMDOW JONES NEWSWIRES China is considering investing $1.5 trillion over five years to increase production of higher technology goods, Reuters reported Thursday on its website, citing people familiar with the matter. The spending would be targeted in seven sectors, including alternative energy, biotechnology, new-generation information technology, high-end equipments manufacturing, advanced materials, alternative fuel cars and energy and environmental technologies. Funding would come from corporations, local governments and banks. The National Development and Reform Commission, a Chinese planning agency, declined comment.
