What puzzles me is that a site needs to be offline for maintenance for such an amount of time.
Can't you do most of the work offline, then put the production site on maintenance mode while you upload the the work done on the offline environment and maybe tweak a thing or two?

There might be another reason for this, but should the musicmatrix really kick off, there's no way users are going to stand not being able to access it for such long periods of time.
