people do what they choose to do based on what they believe or don't believe .

Some believe we were created by God and He is the Supreme Judge
(see the Declaration of Independence for this reference)

Some believe we accidentally happened from a rock dissolved in the ocean, into an amoeba, a fish, snake, monkey all accidentally, random like.

Those who believe in a Supreme Judge, they know that even if they did fool people now, they won't be able to fool HIM.

They know HE showed the laws of LIFE, and the consequences of breaking those laws.

Others deny the Supreme Judge and Creator, and activily participate in a mind-set of "the end justifies the means" ,

We see this attitude of "anything goes that gets more for me" especially in the seeking of dollar-gain.

Look at all the mis-representation, the hiding, the cloaking of financial "deals".

Ever heard of Dollar-god.? Well, a preacher wrote a letter about in 1810. He was dismayed at how quickly people had turned to serving the Dollar-god by any means they could, ... letting go of more and more of the godly foundations in Colonial America.

The erosion of faith towards GOD has resulted in laws that allowed naked shorting, selling what you don't have; multiplied leverage upon leverage in high finance (by high, i mean hidden from view through protection of laws)

The FRBS multiplies fiat money by a factor of 9
then the Fannie Mae multiplied with leverage up to a hundred.
Then AIG multiplied leverage with "credit default insurance" by up to a factor of 40. This was testimony before a Senate Investigation Committee in 2008 , straight from the mouths of those in charge of AIG, Fannie Mae, and banking system.
