They then followed this up with what THE COMANY ACTUALLY SAID in it's July 31 Q and A (this is directly quoted in the material you referenced in your link, BTW - in fact, right underneath it). I have emboldened the relevant part of this DIRECT QUOTE from the company:

Through continual negotiation, both parties have prepared and completed the necessary documentation for signature that will be filed with the applicable government offices, agencies in Chile, and the appropriate consular offices. So, a date was given by a blogger expressing his/their OPINION on when they thought the Company might be making the announcement. The Company has never promulgated an exact date for a closing or announcement in any of it's official communications. Big difference.

Hope this clarifies things for everyone, particularly any newbies or anyone else who may have inadvertently misread the referenced material. We are all still waiting on an official word or date - we have (to the best of my knowledge) never received any such notification from the company.

Like the vast majority here, I am slightly frustrated with every passing day that this mega-deal remains unconsummated, but with every day it appears that the case for it getting done and getting done soon gets stronger and stronger. For instance, we have no volume today, and no price advance, but there is also a complete dearth of sellers as well. I'm reading that as a positive.
