A bona fide paradigm shift in metastatic cancer would be a drug that enabled patients to not die from their disease.



That's asking too much at this point. That type of paradigm shift is not going to happen for a long long time because we are nowhere near understanding cancer completely. Cancer treatment is built on incremental progress, from one approach to another, or combination of different approaches.
