Just from my experience with Scottrade Elite, Its common for the bid/ask prices to round out to a base place value for short periods of time. In other words, a .55 bid and .65 ask will simply show .50 and .60, even though its not the real B/A. Im not sure if its some sort of resetting of the data or just BS.
I also have an account that is more options dedicated and have not seen this problem there yet, so I believe its just certain platforms are not designed to work as well with options.
Just make sure your keeping track of the stock price, premium value and expiration time left when you purchase options if unsure of an accurate B/A.

A people that value its privileges above its principles will soon lose both. DDE
