Ih8aloss, re the crinkles to help absorb light
in solar panels - one of the beautiful things
about what Dr. Jabbour mentions in the Best
of Both Worlds (its a blueprint) is that
Solterra will, in one layer, stack different
size T-QD that absorb different wavelengths,
so increase the capture of all frequencies
of light, and absorb more light. The QD will
be optimized to the light common in the region
it is made for. Theoretically, IMO, they could
put a solar cell loaded with UV T-QD at the
north pole with six months of darkness and
it would work fine, 24 hours a day, absorbing
the UV coming into the atmosphere. In a
equatorial country you might want some more
IR wavelength T-QD to absorb the heat all
day long, not only when the sun is brightest.
So, maximizing absorption can be a function
of the T-QD employed to best use.
